Day 2 – Saturday March 13th
This morning we bid farewell to Goondiwindi and shortly arrive at St George, the rural service centre which promotes itself as Queensland’s inland fishing capital. Morning Tea, the Palmer’s way prior to arriving St George. Today’s delightful lunch is prepared for you at Riversands Wines and afterwards you are free to wander and take in the local sites and or shops. After your spot of browsing the shops, you will board the coach to make our way to our accommodation for check-in.
Later this afternoon, we depart for Thallon for the spectacular inaugural Grazing at the Watering Hole event. It is here you are invited to sit at “Australia’s longest grazing table” The Grazing Table is set with the town’s towering grain silos and their spectacular large-scale mural “The Watering Hole” by Queensland artists Drapl & The Zookeeper as a magnificent backdrop. Thallon Progress Association Inc. secretary, Leanne Brosban said “The night is about making the most of our beautiful silos mural we have in Thallon and showing people another side of that by lighting it up at night,” she said.
